You have left over rice and you are thinking what to do with
a bowl of rice. Make crispy rice ball. I bet you everybody is going to love
that. Again it also can happen, that you have no potato in your kitchen and you
are craving for vegetable chops. You can
substitute potato with a bowl of rice. I’d a bowl of rice in my fridge. I
cooked rice ball yesterday evening. You can’t believe that was awesome. I think
you can cook this as a starter for any party. I’ve found a recipe with rice on
the internet. That is originally Italian recipe, named Arancini. I changed many
of the ingredients and made in my own way.
Here is the recipe
Ingredients:
One small beet root
One small carrot
One tbsp chopped coriander leaves
One tsp chopped mint leaves
One bowl cooked rice
One tbsp pasta sauce
One tbsp pesto sauce
Half cup bread crumb for coating
Enough bread crumb to make thick dough
Enough oil to deep fry
Salt to taste
Method:
Cut beet root and carrot into small cubes. Pressure cooks them. Let the cooker
cool. Strain the vegetables in a bowl. Add all the ingredients except half cup
bread crumb. Mix all the ingredients and fold thoroughly with hand to make
dough. Divide the dough into small balls.
Heat oil in a heavy- bottomed wok. Coat the balls with bread crumbs and
deep fry. Serve hot with pesto sauce.
N.B. Rice ball and ginger-tea is an awesome combination.
