Sun Valley Diary 4

Sawtooth National Forest

After visiting Stanley Lake we drove through the enchanting jungle of Sawtooth National Forest. The sun was blazing from the top on that summer afternoon, and we were driving on the almost desolated valley road with towering granite peaks which were still snow-capped. Though we couldn’t see any wildlife, but this forest is home of many exotic wildlife . Every year chinook and sockeye salmons travel 900 miles to spawn in the roaring rivers of the valley.

Approaching from Stanley to Redfish Lake, the Sawtooth valley has many things to offer. The summer is for enjoying the fishing, kayaking in the lakes. If you love those sports, then Sun Valley is a great place, and also for the road trip lovers. It is also The Lake is situated more than 6000 feet above sea level surrounded by mountains.

As we drove through the breathtaking taking valley to the glittering lake, we were in wonderment of the majestic mountains, and various burbling streams which were coming in view every now and then. The green valley, the sandy beach of the lake make the place divine. Few people were kayaking on the calm lake, few were sitting idly on the sandy beach.

Road trips are always stressful, especially who drives the car. However, when nature comes  before the eyes with her most beautiful treasures, the stress just seems nothing.

We got down at the little parking area of redfish lake. The lake named after the  Sockeye Salmon  that use the lake as spawning bed. I read that the 300 feet deep crystal clear lake "turns red" during that time. We didn't present there during spawning time, so we could see twinkling lake.

We sat down there on the stumps of dead trees for some time. The cool moist breeze from the lake brushed our face, making us feel better in the long weary journey.
From After visiting there we drove through a flat land for long before hitting mountain of Sun Valley. The day was growing old, we were also getting tired. It was the evening, are we were tired as dog.

We wanted reach our destination and to have some rest. Though we passed the historical sun valley village resort, but we were too tired to stop and see it. We kept it for next day.
