Yankee Candle Village visit

Leaving Vermont we started driving towards south again. When we started in the morning from Hardwick, it was cold and drizzling. Cold wind was blowing.

However, gradually the weather started getting warmer, but it was not that much warm. So, we kept our jacket on. Our next stop was to visit Yankee Candle Factory.

Back in 2005 Mr. Man lived in Hartford. At that time he went to see the Yankee Candle factory in south Deerfield, Massachusetts. He told me that, he saw how the candles were made in the factory, how they were packaged. He wanted to show the same thing to us this time.

However, we didn’t know that in course of time the Yankee Candle Village was totally changed from what he saw thirteen years back. From outside he told me that it was almost same. However, inside it was totally different. When we reached there we found it was overcrowded. It was little difficult to get a parking spot.

Inside we found it was gorgeous huge shop, full of lights and dazzling things. They called it Yankee village, where every day is  Christmas. There was no factory anymore. The shifted the factory somewhere else, we didn’t know that. It was rather a huge store. Everywhere it was decorated in Christmas theme. We found a huge collection of fancy Christmas Ornaments. It was really tempting, though we didn’t buy any ornaments. The Christmas decorations were spectacular, but we found very less variety of Candles.

It was a nice tour, but what we expected we didn’t get.

There is one here in Williamsburg Va. It's a big store with lots of candles to purchase. Snow falls in the store and there is music etc.. I miss the candle factory where we could go and watch them make candles. Here is a link that tells about it and about the Massachusetts store.

Interesting story that I didn't know until you brought it up here.

I never knew what kind of nest it was on my tree. I must put it away more carefully and maybe in a class covered container. A hummingbirds nest, thank you for letting me know. Thank you for visiting too.

Anche se non avete visto ciò che volevate, avete fatto ugualmente un bel tour, lo si vede dalle belle foto. Saluti e auguri.

It looks very festive but I can imagine it must have been disappointing if you were expecting a candle factory.

How disappointing not to see the factory at work but you may be able to visit the actual factory another time. The Christmas photos are lovely though.
Merry Christmas,

I would have been disappointed, too. It would be interesting to see how the candles are made. Fun Christmas ornaments, though.

Krishna, sorry you didn't get to see the candle factory as your husband remembered it. I guess the way of the world is change! Sometimes it is just too much. Still looks like a pretty place though. We used to have a candle factory in Half Moon Bay when we lived in the bay area. Not a big name place but with just newly made candles. It was glorious to walk in the store because of the smells. I always bought bay candles. Such a great smell and pretty green color. I suppose that is all gone now as it was a long time ago..Merry Christmas my friend..xxoJudy

Dearest Krishna,
That is always sad and disappointing, also for your husband as he eagerly wanted to introduce you and your son to that great view of candle making...
Thank you so much for your visits. I've searched all the way down on my side bar in my blog and there I found you; 9 MONTHS ago. Your blog seems to have stopped updating in its feed.
Sending you hugs and wishing you a Merry Christmas!
Mariette

Disappointing on a trip when it's different...but glad you had a nice trip. My favorite scent is vanilla and Christmas cookies and cinnamon buns, if I remember correctly. Many stores carry many Yankee candles. My fav but have too many so don't need any. Yes I had fun at our work Christmas party! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hello Krishna, just popping in to visit you here at your blog. What a shame you couldn't try candle making. I have seen the Yankee Candles over here in New Zealand & the fragrances are just beautiful. I did not know they were made there. Hope you have a wonderful festive season Krishna ... thanks for your visits to my blog. Xx
