Visiting Moose Pond

While driving from Verona Island to north Conway we passed a beautiful picturesque lake. To our great disappointment we couldn’t get down from the car. A heavy rain didn’t allow us to do that. So we decided to come back next morning.

At night when Mr. Man asked me the name of the Lake I told him some different name. He couldn't get any lake of that name on the route. Mr. Man is a champion navigator. He traced back route we came to north Conway and found out that was actually Moose pond.

As the weather was good next morning we went back there in Maine to see that very lake again. It was bit cold and cloudy. Moreover, wind was hard ,and made us shiver. It was not a very good weather to venture out. However, the enchanting beauty of the pond pulled us so hardly, the bad weather couldn’t resist us to get down from the car.

The deep blue lake was looking heavenly on that gloomy morning. The place was almost empty except few people. Everyone stopped there to get some beautiful picture of the pond. No one was on the lake except an empty covered boat moored exactly in the middle of the lake. The water was still, without a single ripple even in the little breeze. The houses around the lake were most probably empty as we didn't see anyone on the deck. Or, might be the residents were just lazily sitting on a couch inside the house on a cozy corner under a blanket, sipping a cup of hot cocoa and watching the beauty of the lake.

Across the lake the mountain was designated ski area. We were there not on the ski season. May be the place was empty for that reason. As the winter would set in the area would be full of tourists. We could see beautiful gorgeous green grass on the paths. Amid trees with fall foliage the green grassy patches were looking spectacular. It seemed that no one lived there. However,  one girl came there to take some pictures, she told that she lived across the street.  Where? In the middle of big tree where the cottages were lurking? I don't  know.
