Day trip to St. Helena
We had no plan for vacationing during kiddo’s spring break . However, kiddo badly wanted to go somewhere, as he was at home entirely during the time. So, we decided to go on a day trip in Napa Valley. Few weeks ago Mr. Man was in Napa with his friends, and for the first time he went to St. Helena downtown. He fell in love with the little downtown away from city bustles, and, wanted to show us the place.
On the last day of spring break we woke up early, got ready and set for the very place. It was a bright sunny day with a little chill. I thought that that place was going to be cold, so I packed few winter clothing just in case. When we reached St. Helena, it was warm, and pleasant, we didn’t need to use any of the winter clothing. As I went to Napa few times already I decided to read a book during the journey. But, the rolling hills of Napa, which was bright green due to continuous rain made me close the book, and compelled me to watch out side. The cerulean blue sky with fluffy cotton like floating clouds made a perfect day for outing. I went to few wineries before, so, this time going to any winery was not in our plan. Our plan was to walk on the sidewalks of St. Helena, and having a scrumptious lunch to any of the restaurants.
Parking cars is always a problem in any downtown, specially in any small downtown. Luckily we got place. On that beautiful sunny day, people were sauntering on the streets. We slowly walked on the street to find out a good restaurant. Actually, I think all of them are good , it depends on which cuisine you want to try. We opted for continental. After having lunch we just drove around the places to see all the beautiful houses amid trees, and beautiful garden.
Mr. Man told about a winery which looked like a medieval Tuscan castle. We went there to see that. It was just a replica of a castle. The winery so was beautifully built that, you almost mistake with an original old castle, though it was built only 30 years ago. Our last destination was Bouchon Bakery. When Mr. Man went to Napa he brought back some macaroons from there. I just can’t describe how delicious were those. As it was near Napa, we didn’t miss the chance to buy few baked goodies from there. The little shop is so famous, that people usually lined up outside of the shop to buy goodies.
