Tennessee Valley beach
Marine County is almost always cold through out the year. So if you want to go the beach it is better to go in summer. Our last destination was some beach towards the end of the summer. One day one of my friends suggested going to Tennessee Valley beach. Though I went to Marine County several times, but I didn’t know about this little beach there.
So one day she and I packed our bags and went there with our kids. Though it was not that cold, but extremely windy. Luckily we got nice place to sit in the cove, we could bit the wind. In the cove it was very nice and a bit warm. We, moms sat down there, while the kids played a lot in the water.
Tennessee Valley beach has a history of a shipwreck. In the middle of the 19th Century, SS Tennessee was approaching towards San Francisco Bay. Sailing though the dense fog captain missed Mile Rock. When the fog lifted the captain realized that he missed Mile Rock already, and instead of reaching San Francisco Bay he reached Indian Cove, a very narrow beach nestled in Marine Headlands. The ship got stuck there, everyone was evacuated, no injury was happened. The captain thought during high tide he could maneuver the ship. However, next morning they found that the back of the ship was broken by the high tide. The ship was abandoned there. Still few parts of the ship can be seen during low tide. So, if you want to see the shipwreck then check the low tide time to visit the place.
The green Tennessee Valley is also very good place for hiking with family also. The green mountains which turn gray in the summer, again come back to vibrant green as the rain starts in winter. Through out year the place is very beautiful.
We spent there whole day, and the kids enjoyed the last day of the summer. I would love to go back there again in next summer.

Dearest Krishna,
One can imagine that the kids enjoyed it there and so did you for the special views and knowing the history, however dramatic and sad.
Such rocks can be very risky and fog must have been a sea-farer's biggest night mare.
Thanks for sharing this information, did not know about it thus far.
Hugs,
Mariette
