Sun Valley Diary 3

Towards Stanley

After visiting the historic district of  Idaho City, we headed towards Stanley, through Boise Nation forest. I planned to visit few lakes near Stanley before heading to Ketchum. The coniferous forest is very much similar to Yosemite national forest. The elevation is from 2000 to 7000 feet. The forest includes ponderosa pine, many types of fir, other coniferous trees.

In July it was really hot outside, and the sun was not showing any mercy. The narrow serpentine road was almost empty. We could barely see any vehicles coming.

The bright dark green tall trees were looking gorgeous on the sunny day.  We could see many mountain rivers were gushing over the stones, crating the roaring sound.  We stopped at many turn outs to see the beauty of the nature. It was deserted day, perfect to sit beside the rivers for long. No one was there to disturb, but like other road trips, we had shortage of time. So, we could just see for few minutes before starting driving again.
We stopped at the Kirkham Hot spring point at Payette river.

But, I didn’t know that by walking inside the parking space we could see the Hot Spring. During my research I couldn’t find out place. So, we just got down near the river for few minutes. The water was crystal clear, the river bed was clearly visible from the little bridge. Just after that we entered the Challis National Forest, before entering Stanley.

In our plan we had few lakes to visit. We had no plan to kayak. While driving towards Redfish Lake, suddenly we saw a direction of some "Stanley lake". We couldn't help us, but to visit the lake. The road was desolated. First we thought we were going in the wrong way, though the map in the phone was showing a waterbody.

After driving in the narrow road on surprisingly flat valley we reached a parking space. In the midst the forest, a crystal clear blue water lake came in our sight. The bright golden sun of the afternoon was shinning on the rippling water making millions of tiny little stars.

No one was there. We could hear only splashes of water. The distant mountains had snow still on their tops. On the foot of the mountains the coniferous trees surrounded the sublime lake. It was the time to just sit on a rock to stare to the water, and forget about everything in life.

However, time was running out. We had a long way to go. So, we started driving again through the mountain road towards our next destination.

Dearest Krishna,
Wow, what a view and such pure nature with clean air!
Worth the drive for such a destination.
Okay to your question about the blog not showing up in Feedburner.
Go to your settings and click on other. Check if you got there Post Feed Redirect URL and also copy it to paste it inside an open browser to see what is showing.
Then open this link and also safe it for future reference! https://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/ping Put your Feedburner address inside and then Ping Feedburner. You get a reply if it is good or not.
But don't expect it to show up right away, only with your new posting it will function normal again.
To always know about it yourself, you should put your own blog on the side line, as well as others (you need this linking back to others anyway for better web presence) and you do that by going to Settings again and under Layout you click for Add a Gadget (sidebar-right and then go to Link List to add your own URL and those from others that you want to follow or read. This way you can see how your own blog is showing up - or not...
Hope this was helpful.
Hugs,
Mariette

P.S. for adding to your side line, you just go straight to Layout, not to Settings first... I made a mistake there.
