Experience of a unbearably hot weekend

I’ve never experienced such hot week in California ever. Even temperature in San Francisco recorded 91. It has all started from beginning of the week. Monday was very hot and was unbearable. Tuesday was ok. From Wednesday it started soaring up. Friday evening, we went to the mall to cool off. We took some cold coffee from Starbucks and slouched back on a couch inside the mall. I bought a pretty good amount of candles from Bath and Body Works. This is the side effect of going to mall. *smile*

On Saturday we decided to spend most of the time in Bernes and Nobles. So, after having lunch we almost ran to the book store, when sun was blazing with110 F. I think many people, like us wanted to take the advantage of the cool air of the store. So, getting a table was difficult. Somehow we managed to sit at a small table with high chairs. I found the book, “Magnolia Home”, which I wanted to read. I desperately tried to finish the book while sitting there. However, I was unable to do that, when other family members wanted to go back home. When we left the store it was still 105 outside.

Sat with all those books.. :)

Our home thermometer showed the inside temperature 95 at 8 o’clock in the evening. Sunday was also hot, but slightly cooler than previous day. I felt extremely tired to outside. We spend the entire afternoon watching some documentaries about England. My son, wanted to go to the pool since morning. I tried in vein to make him understand that it would make us severely tan in the afternoon sun. Anyway we went to the pool after 6 o’clock.  Then we wanted to go grocery shopping, but as soon a,s my come out from the pool, he started sneezing. So, we abandoned the idea of going shopping.

Hi, Krishna, and thank you so very much for stopping by my blog! I'm very appreciative of your kind comment! I read that you've recently been to India. How exciting!!!!! I've never been anywhere except the U.S. and Mexico. I'm afraid to fly, so... I'm sorry it's still so excruciatingly hot there in California. I've seen on the news about the crazy hot weather and the fires in the Los Angeles area. So sad. Rain in Texas and now Miami, fires in California and Oregon...it's all just awful! I hope it cools off for you soon. Meanwhile, I see, too, that you were enjoying Johanna Gaines's book and that you had a Martha Stewart book there as well. That tells me that you must really enjoy decorating and entertaining! I used to blog every week, but health problems have caused me to slow down. I see from your profile that you have led a very full and interesting life. I, too, am a proud and happy homemaker who put career on hold after marriage. Actually, I'm kinda old, so I'm retired now! I enjoy cooking, too, like you do. I lovingly prepare meals for my husband every day and don't go out to eat a lot. When we do go out to eat, I'm always trying to figure out what ingredients are in the food so I can duplicate the recipe at home! Thank you again so much for stopping by to visit! Have a good week, and stay cool!

I have never seen such high temperatures for Northern California, hope you stay cool. Is your remodeling getting finished?

Several have said it was beastly in the SF area. I hope you cool off soon, we are expected to drop into the 50's tonight here in Chicago and that is a little low for this early in Fall. Smiles, Sandi

Goodness, Krishna, you have endured so much heat without AC! I do hope the temperatures have dropped to be more seasonal. You were very smart to go to the Mall and Starbucks! ♥

Wow, I think I have never experienced such heat. A good decision that you did not stay in the sun.

I guess the best way to stay cool find a cool place to be. My daughter adores Chip and Joanne Gaines and watches their show whenever she can. It has been very smoky here in OR today. Ash from fire in the Columbia River Gorge. Horrible fire that is devastating all the beautiful scenery there. Sad! Ash in the air. I bought masks to wear outside so I could breath, as my lungs were hurting today. Looks like ya cooled down a bit with cool coffee! I am following your
blog, as of the other day! Thanks for following me!

Dearest Krishna,
Thank you for visiting my darning post and commenting!
Oh my, yesterday was another very hot and humid day here in Georgia.
We did bike however, but it nearly killed me...
Being at the pool sounds a lot more attractive for beating the heat!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Yeah the Heat really can drag a person down energy wise. - It's been a hot, dry summer here but temps are slowly going down. Still no rain though. - Was the book good? I've been wanting to read that book.

When the weather is hot, i always get so lazy to do things and move because it's just so hot! And I am from a tropical country so everyday is so hot! haha. And that's why here in the Philippines, there are malls everywhere because we mostly spend time inside a mall for that cool temperature. Also, we tend to commute and ride instead of walking because of the extremely hot weather! It's usually 30°C - 35°C here. hahaha.
