Five on Friday

When I was a little girl I used to keep journal. No one told me to do that. I think, I got inspiration from stories. At the beginning of any year, my dad used to bring a piles of diaries, which he usually got as new year gifts from clients. My sister and I always had fights to get possession of the prettiest one. As far as I can remember I had one small fat little diary with a sky blue cover. Somehow I chose that from many others and started keeping journal. I think I continued that for one year. After that I never wrote journal like that. The diary was there on my study table for a long time. Then in my mid teen, when I was in high school, it became invaluable to me. At that time I was too much preoccupied with my studies, and other activities. The table kept overflowing with books, and papers. So, the poor little diary didn’t get any more place there. Anyway, after long time again I he'd been started keeping journal only for few months, then I just stopped that.

When I found the “Five on Friday”, again that journal writing desire came back in me. I would to give a big thanks to Amy for starting such a wonderful journal sharing idea.

Monday: In the morning I was feeling like Snoopy, and wanted to tell "Let's cancel the Monday". Apart from all the household chores, I had a plan to finish the book "Coming Home" written by Mariah Stewart. The starting of the book was quite slow. When Vennessa's shop was burglarized then it became exciting. Again at the ending it was little bit slow. Anyway, I finished the book. I rented a piles of book from library. My plan is to finish all of them within the date of returning, which is eventually on 14th February.

Tuesday: Today I thought of doing a little retail therapy. Actually I needed something. My plan was to go to  Michael's which is my most favorite place to shop. In the last moment I changed my plan and went to Target. Actually I didn't have any Michael's coupon. You know, all the crafts items are quiet expensive.

I baked bread for the family, cookies were on demand

Wednesday: Mr. Man decided to work from home. So, while kiddie was at school we decided to have lunch at restaurant. He found out some restaurant, and he told that was a Mediterranean restaurant. However, when we entered there, I told him that was Greek restaurant .He was very curious to know how could I tell that. Actually, I've a Greek friend. She always tells me about many places in Greece. She shows me pictures. So, I'm very much habituated with the scenic pictures of Greece. As we enter the restaurant I saw a huge mural of one of the famous place on the wall. By that I figured out that was Greek  Anyway, the food was really awesome.

Thursday: Kiddie had minimun day at school. These minimum days I really don't like. At 12:00 I had to rush to school to pick him up. On the top of that I decided to clean up crafts storage, and that took me forever. Today was my Costco day. My refrigerator was empty. I try to go to Costco without kiddie. So that, I can shop peacefully.

Before clean up

Friday: At last, I went to Michael's today. I wanted to buy a scoring board. However, I didn't get that. I cannot come out from Michael's without buying anything. I bought one cutting board and several other little things.

Michael's haul

It's great to keep journal for memory sake. It's a shame not to write down the many wonderful things we experience in life. To have the opportunity to recall just by re-reading our journal is a nice way to bring a smile, then, we move on forward with great encouragement too:) Have a beautiful day today Krishna.

I've never really been a journal keeper, but I've always loved the idea of it. Perhaps that's what I like about blogging. My weekly posts over the last 7 years are rather like a journal, if one with a limited scope. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.

Hi Krishna! Thank you for your visit and sweet comment! When I was a young teenager, I remember my sister and I both received diaries for Christmas one year. Oh, we would write our deep dark secrets in them at the end of every day...lol...like we really had deep dark secrets!! They had locks and keys and we guarded them with our lives! Over the years of my life I have written my thoughts and prayers down but not consistently and I have many unfinished cute little journal books with empty pages. Sometimes it's just good to write down what's on your heart, isn't it?

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comment about my friend's winter tea party!

I've enjoyed visiting you, too - and I feel the exact same way about Michael's - I seldome (if ever?) have come out of that awesome place empty-handed! I could spend hours and lots of $ in there for sure! : - )

I was an avid journaler during my teen years/early 20s. I still have the journals, but I'd be afraid to read them now. Hee! Last year, I started keeping a gratitude journal again. Sherlock Holmes would be impressed with your powers of observation. I love greek food!

Hello Krishna! Thank you for visiting my blog, and I'm so happy to visit with you today! I enjoyed your five journal entries for the week. Growing up I did write in a diary or journal, but never very consistently. Now, I have a blessings/prayer journal that I write in whenever I want to remember a blessing, or a prayer that needs to be prayed, and that works really well for me. Looks like you had a great week, your craft closet looks full of fun things to do! And that bread delicious! Have another great week :)
