Halloween 2012

Since last September  my son was extremely excited about Halloween, and so was  I. Everyday day he used to ask me about  Halloween . It was  difficult  for him to wait for one long month. Till last to last year he couldn’t understand what exactly is it? So, we also didn’t take any interest to celebrate Halloween. However, this time he was extremely enthusiastic . Actually this time he came to know about all the fun of Halloween from his teacher. I understood that, we were going to have a fun filled day. We bought him a Spiderman costume. Actually, he wanted to buy a fireman dress, but unfortunately we didn’t find his size. Anyway, he chose the Spiderman costume instead.
That very day, my sonny got up early in the morning out of excitement with a happy face ,unlike his everyday grumpy face . I didn’t have to  wake him up. He had his breakfast without any tantrum, and decked up for the Halloween celebration in school. In the morning we all three went to watch the Halloween parade at the school.  Generally his father goes to school, to drop him.  All the students made a big circle in the ground , class wise. We, parents stood at the back with camera ready in our hand. Every class took a round with their teacher around the ground. Ever student came into their best costumes.  My son led the parade holding his teacher’s hand of pre-K. That spectacular colorful parade was so much fun that that one hour passed by, and we didn’t realize.

Carrot soup

Carrots are very good to health. So, I always buy carrots, when I do grocery. This time I was too busy to go to market.  I sent my hubby dear, and he bought a bagful of carrot. I really didn’t know what to do those carrots. Only thing I knew that I’d to finish them. I mainly use carrots in lentil or in chicken curry. I’d to find some new ways to consume all the carrot. One brilliant idea was cooking carrot soup. Long ago I cooked carrot soup. In fact at that time I found a good recipe in a cook book. This time though the cook book was in my reach, but I was too lazy to take out from the cubby and go through the recipe. So, I cooked something whatever came in my mind.

Apple-cranberry pork chops

On 24th December last year, my hubby ardently wanted to dine out. I told him that, almost every store was going to be closed, so I would cook at home. Then he wanted to take at least one dish from restaurant. So he went in the evening. As usual, all the restaurants were close. As he could nothing, he went to Trader Joe’s. Thankfully that store was open. I wasn’t with him. So, he utilized his total freedom and came home with two bottles of wine and a packet of pork chops. I had never cook pork chops before. Anyway few days before I watched a recipe of pork chops on Paula Dean’s show in Food channel. However, when we actually wanted to cook the pork chops I found that I totally forgot the recipe. I searched on the Internet, but couldn’t find. So, from my obscured memory I cooked the pork chops, which turned out good.

Cauliflower soup and zucchini-corn bread

In this Christmas I’ve decided to cook some different dishes every day. However, the problem is that, on 25th we are going for a vacation. So, I had to finish everything what is left in the fridge. I can’t buy anything extra whatever I want to cook. However, I’ve to cook something different with whatever is left in refrigerator. Few days ago I bought a pack of sour crème. I don’t know why I bought that. Now I’ve to finish it up before going on vacation. I’ve no idea what to do with that. I haven’t found any recipe on Internet. Better to say that I have found lots of recipe with crème, but none of them are good for me. I need something else to cook any of them. So, I’ve cooked something with my own recipe.
